Implementing apex court orders: lawyers to go to any extent, says Gill
Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) President, Asghar Ali Gill has said that lawyers would go to any extent to ensure implementation of Supreme Court decisions. All state institutions should strictly follow the commands of the judiciary.
While addressing a press conference here Thursday along-with his secretary, Gill said that in parliamentary system, government should not give the impression that it has any clash with judiciary and should immediately follow the commands of Supreme Court in judges, NICL, Zafar Qureshi and other cases. He said that the elected body would take up the matter in the general house, which would decide its line of action if the government fails to implement the Supreme Court directions.
Replying to a question, Gill said that the bar did not want anarchy in the country but would take stern action if the decisions would not be implemented. On a question, he said that the judiciary could interfere in the executive decision based on mala fide intention.
