River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and river Ravi at Balloki are in low flood level, Flood Warning Centre said here on Thursday. 2,55,500 cusecs water is flowing in River Indus at Tarbela and 2,63,900 cusecs at Chashma, 37,700 cusecs in river Kabul at Nowshera and 40,000 cusecs in river Ravi at Balloki. All the other major rivers are flowing Below Low Flood Level.
It further added that moderate flooding is likely in Hill Torrents of DG Khan and Rajanpur Districts due to moderate/heavy rains at times in Suleman range during the period from 1900 PST of 28.07.2011 to 0700 PST of 29.07.2011.
METEOROLOGICAL FEATURES: Yesterday's trough of westerly wave over Kashmir and adjoining areas persists. Seasonal low lies over North Balochistan and its trough is extending Northeast wards. Moist current from Arabian Sea is penetrating Punjab and Kashmir upto 5000 feet.
MET OFFICE FORECAST FOR TODAY Scattered rain/thundershower with isolated heavy falls expected in Punjab including Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, NE Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Sibbi, Kalat and Nasir Abad divs.), Eastern Sindh (Sukkar and Mirpurkhas divs.) and Kashmir. Isolated rain is also expected in Gilgit-Batistan during the period.
