Egyptian revolution eyesore for Israel, US: Munawar

The Jamaat-i-Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the Egyptian revolution was an eyesore for Israel and its patron the US who were conspiring to thrust dictatorship in the Muslim state in the name of democracy by purchasing a few people for dollars.
He was talking to media men at the Lahore airport on Saturday return from a four-day visit to Egypt at the invitation of the Ikhwanul Muslemeen leader. Syed Munawar Hasan said that the historic change in Egypt had emboldened the Egyptian people and strengthened their freedom movement.
He said with the end of Hosne Mubarak's dictatorial rule, democratic activities had started in the country in a big way and large number of people thrown in jails for rising against dictatorship had already been set free. On the other hand, he said, in Pakistan, the political parties that had been drawing all the benefits through the politics of reconciliation and were now revealing the corruption of each other had not provided any relief to the masses.
He said, the JI delegation had greeted the Ikhwanul Muslemeen leader Dr Muhammad Badie on the successful revolution in their country. He said there was great enthusiasm in the Egyptian people of Cairo and other major cities, which they visited.
The Egyptian people warmly welcomed the Islamic movement leaders from Pakistan and raised slogans in support of Pakistan and also for the liberation of Kashmir. He said, Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza had been held at the Tehrir Chowk in Cairo for those who laid down heir lives for the revolution. On this occasion, rich homage was paid to the martyrs.
Syed Munawar Hasan said that the JI and the Ikhwanul Muslemeen leadership had a common strategy for the solution of the Muslim Ummah's problems and steering it out of the present mess. The JI chief was confident that the revolution in Egypt would have far reaching effects in the region as also the Muslim world and it had given a new life to the Palestinian Muslims fighting against the Zionist state of Israel. JI Secretary General, Liaquat Baloch and JI Information Secretary, M Anwar Niazi were also present on the occasion.
