Indo-Pak foreign secretaries meeting today

The foreign secretaries of Pakistan and India will meet here today (Thursday) to formally begin peace talks. The talks to be held on June 23-24 are being considered important in which Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir would discuss with his Indian counterpart Nirupama Rao.
The foreign secretaries have agreed agenda that mainly focuses on peace, security, confidence building measures (CBMs), Jammu & Kashmir, and promotion of friendly exchanges between the two countries. The foreign secretary-level talks would be followed by follow-up foreign ministerial level talks to be held in New Delhi next month as agreed in April 2010 at Thimphu between Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani with his Indian counterpart Dr Manmohan Singh.
