Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 174,689 tonnes of cargo including 107,525 tonnes of import cargo, 67,164 tonnes of export cargo and 5,606 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 107,525 tonnes comprised of 34,638 tonnes of containerised cargo; 657 tonnes of general cargo; 28,036 tonnes of bulk cargo: 27,760 tonnes of coal; 276 tonnes of sulphur and 44,194 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 67,164 tonnes comprised of 41,138 tonnes of containerised cargo; 20 tonnes of general cargo; 13,890 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,008 tonnes of cement; 7,962 tonnes of loose bulk cement; 3,920 tonnes of wheat and 12,116 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Seven ships namely Al-Mirqab, Taban-1, YM America, Hadis, Positano, MOL Komati and Sea Wave carrying six container ships and bulk cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Four vessels viz CSL Ride, APL Pearl, COSCO Fukuyama and ERK carrying three container ships and bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths.
Six ships namely COSCO Fukuyama, Hyundai Highness, APL Pearl, Maritime Setoshio, Spar Virgo and Overseas Leyte with three container ships, two coal carriers and naphtha carrier respectively expected to sail on Wednesday, while three ships namely LE Jin, CSL Ride and Abdullatif-S with general cargo ship, container ships and cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Thursday.
Four vessels viz Eships Sama, Aspam Sun, Golden Express, Buxmelody and STX Patriokos carrying mogas carrier, base oil tanker, chemicals carrier and container ship respectively due to arrive on Wednesday, while seven vessels viz Gem of Dahej, MAC Jemima, Cap George, Bella, Emirates Wasl, Kota Anggerik and Martin carrying naphtha carrier, five container ships and general cargo ship respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIMThe Port Qasim handled 54,179 tonnes of cargo includes 28,915 tonnes of import cargo, 25,264 tonnes of export cargo and 1,464 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 28,915 tonnes includes 19,435 tonnes of furnace oil and 9,480 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 25,264 tonnes includes 9,898 tonnes of wheat; 5,382 tonnes of cement and 9,984 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Two container ships namely CV Deira and CV Nedlloyd Tasman sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships namely MV Saf Avon and Nahide-M will sail out to sea on the same day afternoon. A total number of nine vessels viz CV Nedlloyd Tasman, CV Deira, Acacia-N, Al-Azizoo, Orient-III, MV Sam Eagle, Indigo Ocean, MV Nahide-M and Fair Spirit are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, foil, wheat and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Three ships namely Saf Avon, Nexoe Maersk and CGM Strauss carrying containers are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz Saf Avon and CGM Strauss carrying containers are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal on Wednesday.
