As a citizen of this country I see the Supreme Court order in Reko Diq case as good news because again the SC has upheld the supremacy of law - which is the key to eradicating the cancer of corruption in our country.
I think this also sends out a positive signal to investors that Pakistan is a country where despite a serious law and order situation there is rule of law and respect for legitimate contracts. We as nation are going through tough times and each of us in our role need to do our bit to help in alleviating the situation.
We have all heard about the enormous natural resources potential of Pakistan, especially in the province of Balochistan. But we have not been able to transform this wealth to our advantage. There are limited exploration activities going in the country. We should welcome FDI in this area and not scare it away by mixing politics with business.
