The second phase of anti-polio campaign is being launched in seven districts of Khyber Pakhtunkwa (KP). The campaign will be carried out from June-20 to 22 in seven polio-vulnerable districts-Peshawar, Torghar, Nowshera, Karak, Kohat, Bunner, and Shangla-after successful completion of polio immunisation drive in twelve vulnerable districts in the preliminary phase.
The KP health department has set target to administer polio vaccine to more than 3.31 million children during the drive in the province, said Dr Janbaz Afridi, Deputy Director, KP Expanded Polio Immunisation Cell. He said that polio eradication drive had formerly been launched in 12 districts--Charssada, Mardan, Swabi, Haripur, Abbottabad, Manshera, Battagram, Hangu, Bunnu, Lakki Marwat, Tank and D I Khan-from , June 13 to 15.
