A modern laser machine for surgery of urology related complications have become operative at Urology Departmentt of Lahore General Hospital. Purchased at a cost of Rs12.5 million at special instruction of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, this is the first laser machine of its kind in Pakistan so far.
Professor Dr Ahmed Salman Waris and his team including Dr Khizer Hayat, Dr Khalid Hussain and Dr Fawad Nasrullah successfully conducted first operation by this machine here on Sunday. Mohammad Barkat, 70, a patient of Prostate who underwent the operation by the very machine, was very happy after the process because his doctors say he would go back to routine life within one weak as he has not suffered any blood loss during operation.
Principal Executive Officer LGH Dr Tariq Slah-ud-Din while terming the laser machine very useful for patients said that the patients facing complications of kidney and bladder now need not to go abroad for treatment as this facility has been provided at LGH free of cost as per the policy of Punjab Government.
He said that Chief Minister Punjab has allocated a huge amount for the up gradation and availability of modern facilities at LGH. Now it is the duty of doctors to keep themselves updated with professional knowledge and new machines in order to render best services to the patients in accordance with the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab.
