'Aashiyana housing scheme to be launched in 16 districts'

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that housing schemes with modern facilities have been launched for the poor and common people for the first time in the 63 years' history of the country and the credit of launching Aashiyana housing project goes to Pakistan Muslim League-N which has materialised the dream of low-income people of having their own roof.
He said that besides Lahore, work on Aashiyana housing schemes in Sargodha, Sahiwal, Faisalabad and Jehlum is going on speedily whereas this scheme would be started in 16 districts of the province during the next financial year. He was addressing a meeting held with regard to Aashiyana housing scheme project, here Saturday.
Addressing the meeting, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that transparency and quality in development projects is the hallmark of the Punjab government, which has also been ensured in the Aashiyana housing scheme. He disclosed that hundred percent verification of particulars of those applicants getting houses through balloting has been made so that only deserving people could get houses in these residential colonies and profiteers and gamblers should stay away from these schemes. He hoped that Inshallah 500 houses will be completed and handed over to the lucky persons in the next month in the first Aashiyana housing scheme in the provincial metropolis.
