As a counterblast to the line adopted by PPP against Punjab Law Minister Rana Sana Ullah, the PML (N) lawyers have announced to also knock the door of court against Babar Awan to seek his disqualification as advocate on various charges.
Leaders of the PML (N) Lawyers Forum told a press conference here Saturday that the PPP is stretching the issue of Rana Sana's alleged statement out of proportion in order to cover up its own failures of governance as well as corruption it has been continuing since inception in power.
Dr Awan is taking refuge behind the alleged statement of Rana Sana in order to conceal his own misdeeds, said Khwaja Mahmood Ahmad, Khawar Ikram Bhatti, Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Syed Tahir Sulehry and others at the joint press conference. Khwaja Mahmood alleged that Babar Awan was holding a fake degree of doctorate. He was accused of grabbing a plot of a journalist in Rawalpindi and that he was also accused of receiving of Rs 35 million in the name of a judge from accused in a billions of rupees Punjab Bar scam, Sheikh Afzal.
