Swiss franc falls versus euro

Published Updated

The Swiss franc ticked lower on Tuesday after Chinese economic data temporarily fuelled risk appetite and investors awaited the Swiss National Bank's comments on the franc's strength on Thursday. The SNB is expected to keep rates at rock-bottom levels at its monetary policy meeting in spite of a robust economy as it tries to keep a lid on the Alpine country's record-high currency.
The franc fell 0.2 percent against the euro compared to Monday's New York close, trading at 1.2082 per euro at 0641 GMT. The franc was also 0.1 percent lower against the dollar at 0.8376 per dollar.
