The Sub-Committee of the Senate Standing Committee on Cabinet has called for strict action against the management of two housing societies - Federation of Employees Co-operative Housing Society and Pakistan Medical Housing Society in E-11 Islamabad in view of violations committed in approved layout plan.
The Sub-Committee, which met at the Parliament House, was presided over by Senator Shahid Hassan Bugti. Bugti said that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) must ensure implementation of the approved layout plan in letter and spirit and the violations should be rectified immediately. He said that housing societies must adhere to the rules and proceed according to the approved layout plan.
The Committee also examined the list of commercial plots auctioned during the last three years in various sectors of Islamabad. It was given a detailed briefing on the commercial plots sold during the last three years besides discussion on the violations of layout plan of Federation of Employees Co-operative Housing Society E-11 and action taken against the violations.
It was also informed about the delay of water supply from Shah Allah Dita Reservoir to various sectors of the Capital along with a detailed overview of the completion of development work as announced by the Prime Minister. The Convenor of the Sub-Committee stressed upon the concerned quarters to expedite work on the completion of the water supply scheme to the newly launched sectors so that people may not suffer due to water shortage.
