HAMBURG: Taiwan's feed industry procurement association MFIG bought about 52,000 tonnes of yellow corn, likely to be sourced from South Africa, in a deal on Thursday, European traders said.
The corn was for shipment between Feb. 21 to March 12, 2018.
The corn was all purchased at a premium of 132.40 US cents per bushel c&f free out over the Chicago May 2018 corn contract , traders said. There is an additional surcharge of 75 US cents per tonne for additional port unloading.
Seller was said to be trading house ETG.
In its last reported purchase on Oct. 26, MFIG purchased about 65,000 tonnes of corn likely to be sourced from Argentina.
