Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan, has called for paying special attention towards preventive measures for combating terrorism. He was chairing a high level meeting held at the Governor House here on Friday. The meeting discussed law and order situation in the backdrop of the recent incidents.
Commander Karachi, AOC Southern Command, DCO Karachi, Representative of 5- Corps and officials concerned with the law and order attended the meeting, said an official statement. The Governor stressed that special attention be paid towards preventive measures to combat terrorism and that the available technology should be utilised for the purpose.
He said that the City District Government Karachi's Command and Control System has been co-ordinated with the rangers, police and the CPLC. Dr Ishrat was of the view that there should be monitoring of sensitive areas and main thoroughfares through human intelligence.
He also asked the City District Government authorities to pay special attention towards security-related projects and issues. The Governor was of the view that there should be effective co-ordination between the armed forces institutions in the city and the organisations performing municipal services and the enforcement of law and order. He said that SOP should be devised to meet the situation arising out in case of any emergency.
