Ajmal Pahari arrested

Anti Extremists Cell (AEC) and Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) of Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Monday claimed to have arrested a notorious criminal, who involved in around 100 targeted killings at New Karachi.
According to details, a team, headed by SP Umer Shahid and SP Aslam Chaudry, on a tipoff raided near Eidgah ground at New Karachi Sector 5-D and arrested a notorious criminal namely Ajmal alias Shehbaz alias Pahari and recovered huge cache of weapons on his information.
The CID officials said the accused Ajmal, who belonged to one of the political parties and was arrested in 2000 over the charge of 43 murders, was released in 2005. They further said that he had admitted during initial course of investigation that he had killed 58 more persons including MPA Zuhair Akram Nadeem, DSP Shamim, ASI Arif Shah, Advocate Iqbal Rad, 14 activists of MQM-H in Pak Colony, 12 persons in Orangi Town, six persons in Ranchor Line, etc since the release from Jail.
They further claimed that the accused Ajmal, who involved in several other heinous offences including attacks on Sindh Secretariat building and Baitul Hamza, kidnapping for ransom, extortion, etc, was also patronising several land mafias and land grabbers.
They said the department had also recovered huge cache of arms and ammunitions including 2 Kalashnikovs, 2 TT pistols, four hand grenades, 2 repeaters, one 8mm rifle, 3 Tripple-2 rifles, one sten-gun and 200 rounds on his information and added that the department in this connection had initiated further investigation to nab his other accomplices.
