KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar said efforts were on to transform Safari Park into an international standard recreation park.
Private organizations would be encouraged if they come up with any plan to develop city parks and recreation centers of international standard.
He expressed these views while addressing to a meeting held to discuss improvement plan for Safari Park, and other parks of the city.
He said despite running the province and whole country, Karachi was not getting what it deserves for its own development.
He said in order to develop parks in Karachi joint ventures with private organizations were being worked out. Full cooperation would be provided to private organizations interested in the upgrading of Safari Park.
A review committee will be made in this connection. He said a strategy is under way to install more than 25 swings in the Safari Park.
The meeting was informed that Safari Park would be developed as a theme park.
