CHICAGO: Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans at elevators and processors in the US Midwest on Friday were mostly unchanged and quiet as some farmers and end-users continue to observe the US Thanksgiving holiday, merchants said.
Farmers also withheld corn and soybeans as futures prices moved within a narrow range during Friday's holiday-shortened trading session.
CBOT grains will close early on Friday at 12:05 p.m. CST (1805 GMT).
Light grain sales by farmers pulled up most corn and soybean bids at Midwest river elevators.
On Friday the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported export sales of US corn for the week ended Nov. 16 at 1,106,400 tonnes (old and new crop years combined), in line with trade expectations for 900,000 to 1.4 million tonnes.
The USDA reported export sales of US soybeans in the latest week at 903,600 tonnes (old and new crop years combined). That was below a range of trade forecasts for 1.0 million to 1.5 million tonnes.
