HAMBURG: Germany's 2017 harvest of corn (grain maize) will increase 9 percent on the year to 4.37 million tonnes, Germany's association of farm cooperatives said on Wednesday in its final crop report.
This was up from 4.3 million tonnes the association had forecast in August. Germany's corn harvest takes place in the autumn and lasts into November.
The association said corn harvesting was now almost complete.
Corn growth had benefited from repeated rain in Germany this summer which however damaged wheat and rapeseed crops, the association said.
