The first death anniversary of noted television and film actor Malik Akber Abbas, popularly known as Malik Anokha, was observed here on Sunday among his fans and fun lovers alike. According to a private TV channel, born in Mirpur Khas, Sindh in 1943, Anokha was fluent in seven different languages. He remained associated with the showbiz for about forty years.
He was famous for PTV drama serial Dubai Chalo. He also performed in famous TV series including Karwan, Bamulaiza Hoshiyar, Waris, and many others. His hit film was Aisa Bhi Hota Hai released in 1965. He also performed in one Punjabi and thirteen Sindhi films.
Malik Anokha died on July 26, 2008 due to heart attack. He was buried in Karachi. He is survived by his widow, three daughters and a son. His movies are including Aisa Bhi Hota Hai (1965); Chori Chupay (1965); Shehro Feroze (1968); Munjho Piar Pukarey (1974); Badal Ain Barsat; Rut Ja Rishta; Dharti Lahe Kunwar; Dharti Dilwaran Ji (1975) Aj Ta Bhakar Payon (1976); Hazir Saien (1977); Umeed (1983); Hakim Khan (1986); Toofan (1987); Dushman; Mahran Ja Moti (1988); Beus (1989) and Meeran Jamali (1990).
