PARIS: European Union soft wheat exports in the 2016/17 season had reached 21.6 million tonnes by May 16, down 20 percent from 26.9 million exported by the same point last season, official data showed on Thursday.
In the latest reporting week, the EU exported 264,000 tonnes of soft wheat, on the basis of a revised week-earlier total of 21.3 million tonnes, the data showed.
EU barley exports so far this season were 4.7 million tonnes, down 51 percent from a year earlier, while cumulative EU maize imports were 10.2 million tonnes, down 15 percent.
