Salaries of Levies personnel to be increased in next budget: NA told

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Secretary for States and Frontier Regions Shaheen Shafiq Monday said Levies personnel salaries would be increased in the upcoming budget.

She informed the National Assembly that a summary had been sent to the prime minister for the approval into the matter.

She said the government was cognizant of the fact that revision of Levies personnel salaries was imperative as it was promised by the president during a jirga of tribal elders.

MNAs Junaid Akbar, Gulzar Khan and Hmaidul Haq Khalil drew the attention of the minister for SAFRON towards salaries of Levies as those were even lesser than the police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

They said the government was very much aware of their sacrifices in war against terrorism.
