Five Major Generals have been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Generals and commanders of some corps have been changed, a press release of Inter Services Public Relations said here on Wednesday.
Those promoted include Major General Khalid Shameem Wynne, Major General Mohammad Ashraf Saleem, Major General Shahid Niaz, Major General Muhammad Yousaf and Major General Syed Absar Hussain.
The press release said that Lieutenant General Mohammad Ashraf Saleem has been appointed Commander of Army Air Defence Command, Lieutenant General Syed Absar Hussain has been appointed Commander, Army Strategic Forces Command, Lieutenant General Waseem Ahmad Ashraf has been posted Corps Commander Gujranwala and Lieutenant General Imtiaz Hussain Corps Commander has been appointed Adjutant General at the General Headquarters.
It said that Major General Khalid Shameem Wynne was commissioned in Punjab Regiment in April 1972. He is a graduate of Command and Staff College Quetta, German Army Staff and National Defence University Islamabad. He has held various Command, Staff and Instructional appointments during his career. He has commanded an Infantry Division and has been Commandant School and Infantry and Tactics Quetta. Presently he is Deputy Chief of General Staff at General Headquarters.
Major General Muhammad Ashraf Saleem was commissioned in Army Air Defence in April 1972. He is a graduate of Command and Staff College Quetta, Indonesia Army Staff College and National Defence University Islamabad. He has held various Command, Staff and Instructional appointments during his career. He has commanded an Infantry Division. He has been appointed Commander of Army Air Defence, Command.
Major General Shahid Niaz was commissioned in Army Engineers in April 1972. He is a graduate of Command and Staff College Quetta and National Defence University Islamabad. He has been Director General Frontier Works Organisation. He was presently serving as Engineer-in-Chief.
Major General Muhammad Yousaf was commissioned in Artillery in April 1972. He is a graduate of Command and Staff College Quetta, German Army Staff College and National Defence University Islamabad. He has varied experience of Command, Staff and Instructional appointments. He has commanded an Infantry Division and has also served as Director General Military Operations at the General headquarters. Presently he is Vice Chief of General Staff at the General Headquarters.
Major General Syed Absar Hussain was commissioned in Artillery in April 1972. He is a graduate of Command and Staff College Quetta, Egyptian Army Staff College and National Defence University Islamabad. He has varied experience of command, Staff and Instructional appointments. He has been commanded Strategic Forces North. Presently he is Director General Defence Export Promotion Organisation. He has been appointed Commander Army Strategic Forces Command.
Lieutenant General Waseem Ahmed Ashraf, who is presently serving as Adjutant General at the General Headquarters, has been posted Corps Commander Gujranwala. Lieutenant General Imtiaz Hussain, Corps Commander Bahawalpur has been appointed as Adjutant General at the General Headquarters.-PR
