HAMBURG: Iraq's trade ministry has not yet made a purchase in an international tender to buy at least 10,000 tonnes of sunflower oil sourced from any origin worldwide apart from China, European traders said on Thursday.
The tender had closed on Nov. 20, with offers remaining valid until Nov. 24.
Offered prices were around $1,130 to $1,150 a tonne c&f, they said. A purchase of about 10,000 tonnes was still seen as possible.
"Iraq seems to be taking especial care with its commodity purchases as the weak oil prices in the past couple of years have cut its buying power," one trader said.
