Warid Telecom International, a UAE company, announced on Sunday that it has signed a joint venture agreement with the Societe Des Telecommunication Du Congo, the telecommunication arm of the Government of the Republic of Congo for the provision of mobile telecommunication services in the country.
Under the terms of the agreement the joint venture company "Warid Congo SA" shall be awarded the necessary licences to operate mobile, fixed line, wireless local loop, WIMAX, fiber optics and other related telecommunication services in the country.
His Highness Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Chairman of Warid Telecom International said, 'we are delighted to enter the Republic of Congo and become an active participant in the Congolese telecommunication industry.
