Rangers to improve further L&O in Karachi: DG Rangers Sindh

KARACHI: The Director General of Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Maj. Gen. Bilal Akber, has said that the para-military force was playing its full role for the maintenance of law and order in Karachi.

He was speaking at a ceremony organized here on Saturday by the National Vocational and Technical Education Commission (NAVTEC).

The DG Rangers pointed out that there was a marked improvement in the law and order in the metropolis in the wake of Karachi Operation.

He declared that the Rangers would further improve the law and order in Karachi and that the drive would continue against terrorists, target killers and their sponsors and financiers.

Maj. Gen. Bilal Akber said that the Pakistan Rangers Sindh in collaboration with the federal as well as the provincial governments, was initiating three major initiatives that are skill development to help youngsters obtain jobs. For this preference would be given to those who are relatives of the victims of incidents of terrorism.

Another step, he further pointed out, was the `victims support programme'. The data of the victims and affectees of various accidents and mishaps, would be collected and help would be provided to these.

The third step, Maj. Gen. Bilal Akbar, stated was the reformation centre where those who had been involved in crimes would be reformed to make them a useful member of society.

He said that so far about 30 youngsters have become part of this very initiative.

The chief of the NAFTEC, Zulfiqar Cheema, also expressed his views on the occasion.

The Director General Rangers also visited various sections of the NEFTEC.
