Six SC benches, larger benches formed

imageISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali on Friday constituted six benches and two larger benches at the principal seat to hear some important cases during the week starting on Monday (November 28).

The first bench will comprise of Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan, and the second will consist of Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Justice Maqbool Baqar.

Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Tariq Parvez will form the third bench and Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Mushir Alam will be part of the fourth one.

The fifth bench will comprise of Justice Gulzar Ahmed, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Faisal Arab. Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain will be part of six bench.

Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Amir Hani Muslim, Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan will be part of the first larger bench while Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Amir Hani Muslim, justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Ijaz Ul Ahsan will be part of the second larger bench.

The cases to be heard include contempt proceedings against the Management of DIN TV Channel and other concerned on account of false news/report regarding a private meeting of one of the Senior Hon. Judge of this Court with Senator Nihaal Hashmi of PML (N), suo moto action regarding 273 illegal appointments, promotions and adjustments without any advertisement/interview on the basis of bogus service structure in the Health Department Sindh, Constitutional Petitions Under Article 184 Panama Papers Scandal, suo moto action against illegalities, contraventions and violations in appointments within NAB, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi v. Imran Khan Niazi regarding Panama Papers scandal, Miscellaneous applications regarding Enhancement of Pension of EOBI Pensioner's, Constitution Petition under Article 184(1)regarding Dispute between two provinces, NAB bail matters, suo moto action regarding delay in carrying out Census in the country, suo moto action regarding eligibility of Chairman and Members of Sindh Public Service Commission, suo moto action upon an incident of indiscriminate firing and suicide attack in District Courts, Islamabad and Constitutional Petitions Under Article 184 for security of the lawyers community and the members of the judiciary.

According to cause lists, no adjournment on any ground will be granted and no application for adjournment through fax will be placed before the court. If the counsel is unable to appear for any reason, the Advocate-on-Record will be required to argue the case.
