Shipping activity at Port Qasim

imageKARACHI: Four ships Maersk Stockholm, Bulk Chile, Kavo Platanos and Sienna Princess carrying Containers, 39,400 tonnes Coal, 29,500 tonnes Canola seeds and 7,284 tonnes LPG were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multipurpose Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Wednesday, 23rd November-2016.

Meanwhile another ship Genie with 64, 708 tonnes Furnace oil and arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was managed at 60% at the Port on Wednesday where a total of nine ships namely Maersk Stockholm, MSC Al-Ghero, Bulk Chile, Diyaa-B, Kavo Platanos, Bunga Allium, Maria-III, Sienna Princess and Wall Eye are currently occupying berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Cement, Sunflower seeds, Palm oil, LPG and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of during last 24 hours stood at 120,790 tonnes, comprising 94,573 tonnes import cargo and 26,217 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,172 Containers TEUs) 2,254 imports TUEs & 1,918 TUEs exports) was handled at the port.

Three ships, Oil tanker `Wall Eye', Edible oil carrier `B unga Allium' and Container ship MSC Al-Ghero sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while LPG carrier Maria-III is expected o sail on same day.

Two ships, C.V Suez Canal and M.T Harmony carrying Containers and Furnace oil are expected to take berths at QICT and FOTCO respectively on Thursday, 24th November, while two more container ships `monte Alegre and Hugo Schulte are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday, 25th November-2016.
