Orient Advertising Managing Director S.H. Hashmi has announced a donation of Rs 5 million for producing a befitting film and writing a book on Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
He made this announcement at a ceremony held for him at a local hotel here.
The ceremony was jointly organised by two national dailies to felicitate him on receiving Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
Earlier, Syed Mahmood Hashmi, Syed Ali, Mir Jamil-ur-Rehman, Ghulam Akbar, Akram Shaheedi, Zahid Malik and Zia Shahid eulogised the multidimensional personality of S.H. Hashmi.
While thanking the government for giving prestigious award to S.H. Hashmi, they said that though every award has its own importance, however, for the services rendered by Hashmi, this award appears rather small.
Almost all the speakers unanimously said that the sincere, effective and true Pakistani that S.H. Hashmi is, it behooves to him to formulate a platform to produce a befitting film and biography on the illuminating life of Quaid-e-Azam to educate and motivate the younger generation and pay homage to Quaid's struggle for independence.
Such a befitting book and film has yet to be produced which is the need of the hour. This is our duty as well as right of the Father of the Nation, they added.
Appreciating the sentiments expressed by the speakers, Hashmi responded by making the announcement of donating Rs 5 million for real research work on Quaid-e-Azam.-PR
