senateKARACHI: Chairman of the Prime Minister's Flood Relief Committee and leader of the House in the Senate, Senator Nayyar Hussain Bukhari has said that all out efforts would be made to provide relief to all flood victims in a transparent manner.

He along with others was addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club, here on Saturday.

Besides, Senator Nayyar Bukhari, a member of PM's Flood Relief Committee and former minister Nazar Muhammad Gondal MNA and Chairman, National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Zafar Iqbal Qadir were also present on the occasion.

Earlier they visited the flood affected areas of Sanghar, Mirpurkhas and Umerkot districts.

The committees constituted by the Sindh Chief Minister to undertake relief works in various district are being assigned different areas to conduct relief and rehabilitation works, Senator Nayyar Bukhari said.

Non-government Organisations (NGOs) are also being assigned areas to provide assistance to the affectees, he said.

The Chairman of Prime Minister's Flood Relief Committee said that relief goods are also being distributed through HANDS, a NGO.

He said the stagnant water is being drained out from Sanghar district with the help of suction pumps.

Speaking on the occasion, Member PM's Flood Relief Committee, Nazar Muhammad Gondal MNA said the victims of rain and flood are facing the situation with courage, which is highly laudable.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate is expected to be affected due to losses suffered by the agriculture sector on account of rain and flood in Sindh, he said.

He also appreciated that elected representatives are serving in all flood affected areas in Sindh to provide help to flood victims.
