gasISLAMABAD: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) would start its two-week UFG (Unaccounted For Gas) reduction campaign from Monday.

Highlighting the aims and objective of the campaign, General Manager SNGPL, Ch. Arshad told APP on Saturday, that during the drive the officials and staff of the company will visit door-to-door, to note the complaint of the consumers besides launching a recovery and anti-pilferage campaign.

He informed that initially this campaign is scheduled for two-week, but may be extended if the goals are achieved till during this period.

Responding to a question, he said "Our preference is domestic consumer” and requested them for the wise use of gas during winter season.

"As the winter is approaching fast, so consumers should take extra care and keep the usage of gas just to cooking instead of heating rooms with room heaters, during long winter nights as over consumption of gas of the people near to the supply lines of gas gives extra load and the people living at tail-end suffer due to this issue", he said.

The GM, SNGPL said "we can not tolerate the theft of natural gas at any cost, and the list of those people involved in this activity has been prepared whether they are company’s employees or outsiders".

He said that strict action would also be taken against these people.

He urged the people that they should be aware of the mode of payments to SNGPL bills and suggested them that no payments should be made other than the company's authorized banks, NADRA branches and Post Offices.

He also advised the people not to strike any outside dealing with employees of the company who are authorized to collect money on company's behalf.
