HYDERABAD: The Chairman District Relief Committee Tando Allahyar and Sindh Minister for Special Education Syed Ali Nawaz Shah Rizvi has said that as many as 65,000 rain affectees were being provided all living facilities at 248 relief camps in District Tando Allahyar and vowed that such assistance to continue till their rehabilitation.
Addressing the meeting of Relief Committee at Tando Allahyar here on Thursday, Syed Ali Nawaz Shah said that to date 10,000 tents and 1,15,000 ration packets have been provided to the rain affectees at relief camps and specially at outside the relief camps.
He said that we are continuously in touch with the PDMA, NDMA and Relief Commissioner to get maximum relief for the rain affectees.
He said that the most urgent work was de-watering from farm land to enable the growers for their next crops for which government was planning to provide loan facilities to the farmers.
He said that in collaboration with the Irrigation officials the rain water would be drained out within few days and the problems would be resolved.
He said that though we have provided 1,15,000 ration packets so far to the rain affectees but still we need 3,000 ration packets per day to meet the requirements.
He said that we need 38 de-watering machines for which we have submitted the demand and hopefully we will get the same.
He said that one cannot avoid the natural disasters but we can minimize the losses and we did it with our team work and prompt action. Health Department was providing health coverage to the affectees but it must be intensified, he added.
