Pak Army hands over equipment for Maldives

KARACHI: Pakistan Army as a goodwill gesture handed over military equipment to Republic of Maldives in a simple but graceful ceremony at Central Ordnance Depot here on Thursday.

An ISPR press release said that Major General Shaukat Iqbal handed over the goods to the Maldivian High Commissioner in Pakistan, Ms Ayesha. Diplomatic staff and Military officials from both countries were also present on the occasion.

The High Commissioner thanked the people and Armed Forces of Pakistan for this generous gesture of friendship. She expressed her desire that bilateral ties between both South Asian nations, based on mutual affinity should contribute towards lasting peace in the region.
