15 Indian fishermen arrested along with six boats

KARACHI: Pakistan Maritime Security Agency arrested 15 Indian fishermen and seized their six boats for fishing inside Pakistani waters on September 25.

During a routine patrolling by PMSA units, it was reported that more than a hundred Indian fishing boats were illegally fishing inside Pakistani waters. Accordingly, PMSA ships cleared the Indian fishing boats operating inside Pakistani waters, a release said.

It is pertinent to mention that Indian fishermen continue to intrude in Pakistan’s marine rich Indus Delta Region containing prime quality fish, at the cost of local fishermen and resulting in depletion of our fish stocks and ecological damage to rare fish species. “PMSA will continue to safeguard country’s maritime interests as mandated by the government,” it said.
