ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mehreen Anwar Raja said that all political forces should come forward and work for the defence, progress and prosperity of the country.
Terming foreign allegations against Pakistan as baseless, she said Pakistan was aware of its responsibility and know how to tackle the evil designs of any individual or state against our country.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, she said that "Pakistan is a peace loving country in the region and a responsible nuclear state and will never tolerate any foreign pressure".
Expressing her views on role of the political parties in national security, Mehreen said she considered the convening of the National Assembly session as very important. She said civilized nations always resolve their problems through negotiations and discussions.
Answering a question, She said President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani are determined to fight manifold challenges and put the country on the path of progress and prosperity. She expressed the hope that the politicians will shun political differences and will tackle these challenges collectively.
