Radio Pakistan plays effective role to help flood victims: DG Radio

ISLAMABAD: Director General of Radio Pakistan Murtaza Solangi said that Radio Pakistan and its reporters are playing the role of a bridge between government administration and relief organizations in flood affected areas to help victims.

Talking to private news channel on Saturday, he said that Radio Pakistan Mithi and Hyderabad stations are covering entire affected area adding now is the time to infuse spirit in the nation to help flood affected people of Sindh.

Speaking about the needs of affected people and gravity of the situation in the affected areas, DG Radio Pakistan said that the people need medicines for malaria, skin diseases, mosquito protection lotion, mosquito nets, clean drinking water etc.

He added that people can send medicines and relief goods to the stations of Radio Pakistan for onward delivery to the affectees.

He said that Radio Pakistan will remain in touch with affectees till their rehabilitation adding that floods have affected approximately 8 million people.
