QUETTA: At least three people were killed and another sustained injuries on Friday evening when unknown armed men opened fire at Mach- bound passenger van in the Mengal Abad area, an outskirt of the Quetta city.
CCPO Quetta Ahsan Mehbood told APP that a passenger van was way to Mach town from Quetta when armed men riding in a car intercepted it and opened indiscriminate fire at them.
Resultantly, three persons identified as Ali khan and Awaz Ali and Ali Mohammad died on the spot while Talib Hussain sustained injuries.
Soon after the incident police and Frontier Corps reached the site and shifted the bodies to the Bolan Medical Complex hospital and injured to the Combine Military hospital Quetta for medical aid.
Later the bodies of the deceased were handed over to the heirs. The people targeted by the armed men were labourers working in the coal mines in Mach town.
The LEAs personnel cordoned off the entire area and started search to trace the suspects out. Further investigation was underway.
