LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Tuesday summoned a senior officer of the Petroleum Ministry for January 21 on petitions against shortage of petrol.
The court directed the law officer to ensure appearance of the joint secretary or additional secretary on January 21.
Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah passed the orders while hearing petitions filed by Gohar Nawaz Sindhu and Usman.
The court criticised non-submission of reply by the government during the hearing today.
The petitioners' through their petitions submitted that the masses were facing hardships due to shortage of fuel but authorities concerned were not paying heed to their miseries.
They requested the court to issue directions to the respondents to take all necessary measures to restore supply of fuel without any further delay.
