Bushra terms transfer of some ministries to provinces as big achievement

ISLAMABAD: Leader Awami National Party (ANP) Bushra Gohar on Wednesday termed the transfer of some ministries to provinces as a great achievement and congratulated the entire nation and parliament on passage of 18th amendment. Talking to a private news channel, she said to pass 18th amendment was a historic achivement.

She said the provinces have the capacity to run these ministries with full responsibility. Bushra said transfer of federal ministries to provinces will help bring prosperity in provinces and good relationship between provinces and federation.

Replying to a question she said some people wanted status quo while believing that federation will weaken if some ministries are handed over to provinces but they were wrong.

She said those people were dictator minded and they wanted to foil 18th amendment but the government and parliament did not let them to succeed. She said if provinces are empowered, the federation will strengthen.

Senior leader of PML-Q Senator SM Zafar also welcomed the approval of federal cabinet regarding transfer of some federal ministries to provinces while implementing 18th amendment.

He advised the government to take appropriate steps to accomplish the task successfully and help the provinces to take new responsibilities especially in the field of education. He also asked the government not to hurry in transferring some responsibilities to provinces to avoid any loss.
