qaim_ali_shahKARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Monday presided a high level meeting regarding judgement of the Supreme Court and repairs of dykes of Irrigation Department at the CM House here.

An official stated said that the Chief Minister directed that repair, maintenance and construction work on flood protective bunds be completed and that work should be up to the mark.

He said that President Asif Ali Zardari is very keen to see work completed well in time.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah made it clear that there should be no question of delay and works be completed within stipulated time and quality be maintained at all cost.

He warned that no dereliction would be tolerated in this very regard.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah maintained that there are 41 schemes of irrigation being implemented which should be completed by June 30, 2011.

Syed Qaim Ali Shah added that the Chief Engineers should be very active, and in case they do not take responsibility, other officers will be posted to undertake the assignment.

He added that the President is very serious and warned that there is not question of delay.

Earlier, Sindh Minister for Irrigation, Jam Saifullah Dharejo, Sindh Irrigation Secretary, Khalid Haider Memon, Consultant Idrees Rajput, and Chief Engineers presented their reports of performance.
