250 shopkeepers pay Rs2,61,200 fine money for violating price list

KARACHI: City administration on Wednesday challaned 250 retailers and shopkeepers and fined them of Rs2,61,200 for violating the officially approved price list.

Those fined included 49 milk sellers, 51, fruit sellers, 73 vegetable sellers, 32 grocers, 40 chicken meat sellers, three meat sellers and two flour millers.

According to details made available by the Karachi Commissioner office 16 of the shopkeepers, from different parts of the city, were also jailed for being found habitual violators of the official price list.
