MUMBAI: Indian shares fell 0.5 percent in early trade on Monday, weighed down by weaker Asian markets. Hindalco and ICICI Bank led the losses.
At 9:18 a.m. (0348 GMT), the main 30-share BSE index was down 0.46 percent at 18,767.41, with 25 of its components falling.
The 50-share NSE index fell 0.56 percent to 5,628.75.
