(Karachi) Curfew has been imposed in more than 25 US cities after “multiple shootings” including one that left a person dead, in downtown Indianapolis.  The US has been facing rising unrest and violent protests following the death of George Floyd.

The handcuffed victim pleaded for air as a police officer pressed a knee on his neck that resulted in his death.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Chief Randal Taylor confirmed the shooting incidents but didn’t disclosed details.

Protests erupted in more than a dozen US states as buildings were damaged and several vehicles were set ablaze. Police used tear gas and rubber bullets in a bid to disperse protesters.

Hundreds of protesters converged on the White House and marched on the National Mall, chanting “Black Lives Matter,” “I can’t breathe” and “No justice, no peace.” The National Guard has been called out in Washington.

In wake of the rising situation, US President Donald Trump has warned the protesters that they would face fierce defence from security officials if they tried to besiege the White House.
