Spain's trade deficit fell 3.6pc in the first seven months of the year compared to the same period a year earlier to 17.20 billion euros ($18.89 billion), the Industry Ministry said on Monday.

In the first seven months, imports increased by 1.5pc to 189.89 billion euros, while exports rose 2pc year on year to 172.70 billion euros, the data showed.

In July, the deficit decreased 23.4pc from a year earlier to 2.49 billion euros as exports rose 3.8pc year on year to 25.29 billion euros and imports increased by 0.6pc to 27.77 billion euros year on year, official data showed.
