Book of Hindko language poetry 'Hazara Rang' published

The Gandhara Hindko Academy has published a book of Hindko language poetry "Hazara Rang" which is the socio-cultural introduction of the Hazara region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. An eminent literature from Abbottabad Professor Bashir Ahmad Soz has authored the 190-page book. He entered the literary scene of Hazara way back in 1964 and has to his credit 33 other books and publications, eight of them being in the Hindko language. His works have won recognition and awards.
"Hazara Rang" has been dedicated to Asif Saqib, another known Hindko writer and poet from Mansehra district of the Hazara Division. Professor Yahya Saqib has written the foreword to the book. He is elated at the fact that accomplished writers and poets are now joining the list of Hindko literati that promises a bright future for the language and its literature.
In the introduction to his latest book, Professor Bashir Ahmad Soz admits that it was a remiss on his part not to pay proper attention to his mother language Hindko in the past. He says he was motivated by his friends, especially Professor Yahya Saqib, to turn to the Hindko language and this publication is the result of that persuasion. The initial part of the book has an introduction to the Hazara Region and the reason for the appellation. It is followed by description of various areas of respective districts and the people who live there.
The poetry has mentioned various areas of the districts of Hazara Division - Abbottabad, Haripur, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar- and the clans that populate those areas. The author has dwelt at Tareen, Jadoon, Tanoli, Turk, Panni, Mashwani, Dilazaks, Awan, Utman, Qazi, Abbasi, etc. Important figures from these clans have been mentioned as well. The author says he wanted to touch Kohistan as well but could not find proper information and had to leave this district out of the book for the time being. Professor Bashir Ahmad Soz says he consulted a number of books before composing poeticised socio-cultural introduction of Hazara through 1,000 Hindko verses. He has given the list of the resource material at the end of the publication.
