The Punjab Auqaf Department was spending an amount of Rs 10.50 million on the execution of seven different developmental schemes aimed at improving necessary facilities apart from renovating the shrines.
This was stated by the provincial Auqaf Minister, Saeed-ul-Hassan Shah while briefing the media men about the developmental vision of the department at his Civil Secretariat office on Monday.
The minister said that construction of Wazu (ablution) place, Ghulam Gardish and Arcades at shrine Hazrat Mian Meer, Lahore was being carried out with an amount of Rs 2 million. Developmental works and extension of Hazrat Bibi Pak Daman was also being carried out with an amount of Rs 2 million, he added.
He said that an amount of Rs 0.5 million was being executed on raising the boundary wall, construction of ablution place, lavatory block and caretaker room at shrine Hazrat Akbar Shaheed, Kot Lakhpat, Lahore.
The Auqaf department has allocated an amount of Rs 1.5 million for renovation and provision of 5 AC units at Aiwan-e-Auqaf and another amount of Rs 2 million has been reserved for the installation of lift at Aiwan-e-Auqaf in the current ADP.
He further said that Rs 2 million for construction of staff quarters for 1 to 4 grade employees at Shah Kamal Auqaf Colony and Rs 0.5 million for construction of boundary wall at Waqf land attached with shrine of Hazrat Khaki Shah Bagrian have been reserved. He maintained that the Auqaf department was striving to provide all possible facilities to the devotees and Namazis at shrines and mosques administered by the Auqaf department.
