The Wall Street Journal reports that a new US intelligence report estimates that the Taliban could win control of the country's capital within six to 12 months of the pullout
Tajikistan's national security committee confirmed Tuesday that more than 100 Afghan servicemen had crossed the border to escape the Taliban onslaught.
The government declined to comment on the reports about the departure of the flight over concerns about the safety of the relocating Afghan translators and their families.
"But when they abandon enemy ranks and opt to live as ordinary Afghans in their homeland, they will not face any issues (and) hence they should not remain fearful."
"Six civilians were killed and four were wounded when a Taliban terrorist rocket hit a wedding ceremony in Kapisa province," defence ministry spokesman said.
The incident took place in Charikar, the provincial capital of Parwan. The bus was carrying teachers from Al-Biruni university, said a spokesman for the provincial police, Salim Noori.
The government usually blames the Taliban for such attacks but the insurgent group denies involvement.
