He appealed to traders and public to avoid crowds in markets and public places and strictly observe SOPs to avoid further spread of coronavirus infection.
In the last few days, the highest positivity ratio was observed in Karachi at 20.12% after which the administration extended lockdown imposed in different areas.
The official said the people will be appealed during the week to follow SOPs like social distancing, hand sanitizing or washing, wearing of face mask etc.
“When people feel safer to spend, or more importantly, when the pandemic is kept at bay, the economy is more likely to have a quick recovery. Not to mention the lives that will be saved.”
The business leaders said that the country's economy, especially the small business sector, could not afford such measures, adding that in the reduced timing, the market would be in a rush, which would increase Coronavirus.
The SOPs formulated in particular backdrop of COVID -19 pandemic include mandatory provision of wearing masks by all those present in the markets (under any capacity).
