The incidents of systematic violence and mass rapes in IIOJK have been documented by a number of independent Commissions, human rights organzations, global media and civil society organizations, including the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, the FO said.
“The number of successful applicants for domicile certificates that appear to be from outside Jammu and Kashmir raises concerns that demographic change on a linguistic, religious and ethnic basis is already underway,” the UN experts said.
The experts are in contact with the Indian government on this matter.
The FO issued this statement following PM's statement that Pakistan will allow the Kashmiris to decide between choosing to join Pakistan or remaining independent even after they vote in favour of Pakistan.
"Pakistan remains firmly committed to the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute through free and impartial plebiscite under the UN auspices as enshrined in the relevant UNSC resolutions," FO added.
Addressing a cricket match between Celebrity XI and MPA XI organized in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, the Governor said that Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir had been under curfew for a year and a half. The whole Pakistani nation stands by side of Kashmiri brethren.
Qureshi said the entire Pakistani nation stands with them in their valiant struggle to secure their inalienable right to self-determination.
He said under the suffocating military siege and in the face of ravaging COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian army has continued cordon-and-search operations, fake encounters, and indulged in a killing spree of Kashmiri youth in IIOJK.
