According to a daily situation report, the number of deaths due to COVID-19 was reached to 301 as two more patients have succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours in the district.
"An acceleration of vaccination in Venezuela is urgently needed, as is an increase (in) diagnostic capacity and genomic surveillance that will allow continuous monitoring of the virus and mitigation of future waves of contagion," the statement said.
It has received about 500,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from China and about 250,000 from Russia's Sputnik V, of which authorities said last week they expect the arrival of another 30,000 shortly.
Italy has registered 110,704 deaths linked to COVID-19 since its outbreak emerged in February last year, the second-highest toll in Europe after Britain and the seventh-highest in the world.
Patients in hospital with COVID-19 - not including those in intensive care - stood at 28,489 on Saturday, down from 28,704, a day earlier.
The government says the real case numbers are likely significantly higher, and separate data published recently by the health ministry suggested the actual death toll from coronavirus may be at least 60pc above the confirmed figure.
As many as 19090 affected patients have been recovered from the coronavirus so far while 207 deaths were recorded due to the deadly virus in Balochistan.
