After several months of increase in auto sales, April was the first month to show a downward trend, as the auto industry recorded 17,233 vehicle sales in the last month.
Auto financing in the country has also witnessed an all time high with a monthly increase of Rs 12 billion during the month of March 2021.
This increase in car financing can be attributed to a decrease in interest rates to 7 percent in March 2021 as compared to 13.5 in the same month last year.
During the July-February 2020-21, as many as 95,139 cars were sold against the sale of 79,534 units while the production of cars increased from 88,196 units to 88,997 units.
